    Christmas Tour of Homes

Its that time of year again; the fun and ever popular "Christmas Tour Of Homes" is under way!  It's where we all gather for a huge bloggy party at
BooMama's and open our homes to our bloggy friends for some Christmas  fun!!! So what does your home look like for Christmas? I have seen many of your homes already and today I will share some sights and smells from around our home, of course your invited to sit for a spell and enjoy some warm apple cider or hot coco and some delightfully bright Christmas cookies!

Our one and only table in the home where we share all of our meals both formal and informal! We did not have this table last Christmas so it is a very special addition to our home!

Troy's Grandmother made this precious tree (it lights up) about 40 years ago and she was so nice to pass it on to us last year (seeing how much I was admiring it )

Our humble  "live" Christmas Tree! We always get a live tree, I like to "smell" my little Christmas tree
We have so many special sentimental ornaments, most passed down and made by my Grandmother plus the boys 1st year ornaments and my childhood ornaments! Its not the best picture, sorry...

    A favorite childhood ornament...

    Grandmothers handmade ornaments...

    Our fireplace and mantle...

We always have to make and decorate Christmas cookies! We had some stars left over from our Christmas Party so we decorated them with lots of icings and sprinkles!

Would you like a very sweet and very festive "Christmas Star"

Now for a peak into our play / school room...

It says.. "A Savior Is Born For...

    Micah, Dominick, Ashton & Noah

I thought this was a neat way to incorporate the "Reason for the season" with the children...

    Our favorite Christmas Carols CD

    "WeeSing for Christmas"

We still have "Thanksgiving" decor up in this room too! It was too cute to take down!

Lastly, I have for you the sweetest addition to this years Christmas in our home!  Our sweet baby Noah!!!

Well its getting late and dark out so it's time to go for now....

But before you go here are a few of our favorite Christmas recipes...

Remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!!!

Isaiah 9:6 is the Old Testament prophecy that was fulfilled in the birth of Jesus,
    and recorded in Luke 2:11.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
    ~Isaiah 9:6~
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

My pity party~ Hidden Blessings ~ FREE BOOK OFFER

The other day was quite unusual in every way; it  started off not so good but ended better then I could have hoped for… I woke up bright and early and got ready to take care of the many errands I had on my list. It is usually difficult for me to get out the door early after taking care of the many “needs” and demands of my little family and home. I was determined to leave early on this day so I could cram in as much as I could in the 3 hours I had to get it all done…. I woke up Troy and he disappeared into the garage and was not to be seen for over an hour even though he “knew” I had planned on leaving early, the boys were unusually naughty, rowdy, restless and at each others throats, the baby was needing to be fed, changed and put to sleep and so I huffed and puffed and went off to feed the baby some solids then nurse and rock him to sleep.  When I sit in my rocker and rock my baby I usually sit and pray, I might cry and just praise God for his goodness, for the sweet baby in my arms, for the many blessings he has bestowed upon me but not today!!! On this day when I sat in that rocker the enemy sat right beside me and began to attack like only he can! Every negative, selfish, nasty thought that could have popped into my head did and I had one huge pity party for me, myself and I! I thought about how angry it made me to feel to be ignored, like my voice could not be heard by the 4 males that had so sweetly ignored me that morning.  I was tired of being last, last to eat, last to shower, last to do what “I” wanted to do. I looked around at all the chores needing to be done, 3 loads of laundry to be folded or put away, dirty dishes, cluttered closet (mine), I was disheartend that Troy can see every little thing I dont do right or at all and rarely points out the things that I do do around the home.  I allowed Satan to feed me the lie that I am unappreciated and that I have sacrificed so much to do what I am doing.

I have noticed for myself that when I am not consistently in Gods word, reading and studying daily the enemy is going to attack and what I “think” or “feel” during these times of spiritual drought are not accurate, they are lies and when I get into one of these periods of “funk” I know that only the Lord can pull me out of it and straighten out my thoughts!

Before leaving the house that morning I prayed that the Lord would help me, bring me peace, give me rest from what felt like a dreary exhausting morning.  I hopped into the van and I turned the Christian radio station on and low and behold it was the good Lord sending me a message via the airwaves!! It was a message just starting up on the role of the woman in the home and all that it entails! Praise God I could have jumped right out of my van I was so excited and thankful that God had heard me and sent me the message I so desperately needed to hear that morning!

My last stop of the day was the Post Office, there had to have been 20 people in line and I was hot and tired and thinking about the sermon I had just heard when a lady I had been watching walked up to me and handed me a book!! Yep, a stranger just picked me out of 20 or so folks and handed me a book full of Prayers, over 200 prayers!!! I will never ever be at a loss for words when it comes to prayer, this book is amazing! Again the Lord had shown himself to me and reminded me I am to pray without ceasing, something I had just recently noticed I have been slacking on. I am not praying nearly as much as I should and I have not been making it a daily “conversation” with my Lord, as it should be! My point to all this is that when we as mothers and wives do not rely wholeheartedly on the Lord daily, hour by hour things start to unravel, Satan will find a way to slip in and steal our peace, lie to us about our God given roles and destroy the foundation of our work! We cannot give him that satisfaction, the grass is never greener on the other side, Gods way is the only way and Satan has already been defeated!!  The Lord ministered to me that morning  (earlier this week) in a way I could not have imagined. I felt like the sweet, cheerful lady in the post office could have been one of his angels here on earth sent to minister to me that day.
