Well the kids have gotten most of what I wanted finished up.They do have a few pages in Grammar to complete, but they'll be able to finish that today and tomorrow. We have 1.5 lessons in History to finish yet. Most of that I think we'll be able to do today. Then we're going to bake. I am hoping to make another loaf of banana bread. I have 2 in the freezer, and will need at least 2 more loaves for gifts yet. I want to make oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut blossoms (peanut butter cookies with the Hershey Kiss in the center) today. So that should take up most of our day today. Oh and I need to call and order our ham! I forgot to yesterday. Tomorrow I need to scrub the carpets early in the morning. Then we have a Christmas party with one of our Homeshcool groups. So I need to wrap Amanda's Secret Santa gift and be sure to bake the appetizers I am bringing. And I hope I don't forget to bring my serving utensils!! Thursday, if the kids haven't finished their work, they will do so today. Then we're going to the movies to see The Golden Compass. (Please don't post and try to start a debate or argument if you don't agree/like this movie.) After the first of the year then, we'll start reading the books. And we also have to mix 2 batches of cookie dough for co-op on Friday. Friday we have our last day of Co-op for this year/session. The kids in cooking class are baking cookies and the drama class will be putting on their short play. The day will be short as there will be no classes really aside from cooking. Then come January, we start a new session. Several of the families will not be coming back for various reasons. And w'll have new families taking their places. The mom that was teaching science isn't coming back, so I am taking over that class. I've never "taught a class" before, so this should be an experience. I've been planning some things and I know what we'll be doing for the first 3 classes/weeks so far. LOL (We only meet 2 Friday's per month, so I only need 5 more lessons.. LOL) And after Co-op, we have to head to Frederick to pick up our ham. Not sure what the weekend will be like. National Treasure 2 opens on Friday. So I want to go see that as well. Might go on Christmas Eve. Not sure what day yet. I *think* we have all our shopping finished. I can't think of anyone we missed. LOL I have a few last things to wrap yet. We did get our tree up on Saturday. I'll post some pictures. It's a little shortie, but it is really cute. It has an orangey scent to it. And makes the house smell good. (Not as good as chocolate though. That's what we need.. a chocolate scented Christmas tree!!) So I am off to read some blogs and I need to grab some breakfast. Have a great week!! :) It's still snowing!!

Not sure what the "official" total is so far, but the kids' snow stick we have outside is telling us that 4 inches have dropped so far today. Everything is so pretty. Amanda took some more pics, so I added them with mine so you can see the difference since this morning. :)

So I thought I'd do a little update. I've decorated my blog for Christmas.. had to play around a bit until it looked right to me. hehe I am going to drag out some Christmas decorations today. We don't put up a tree until about the middle of the month. So those items cann stay in the shed. We had a nice Thanksgiving. Had some family over, played games, ate too much. hehe We also celbrated Jake's 12th birthday (party was on the 24th, birthday was on the 26th). He had a great time, the kids played video games, ate pizza and ice cream cake. School-wise.. we aren't getting much done. But I'm not worried, we'll get back on track before summer. ROFL!!! I am almost finished Christmas shopping. I need to shop for my mom, a few more thigns for Jake, and 2 Secret Santa gifts for our Homeschool group party. And maybe a gift for one of Amanda's friends.. not sure if they are exchanging presents this year or not. I have everything wrapped so far but 2 items. Then I still need some stocking stuffer gifts. My cards are all stamped and ready to be mailed today. I had wanted to get them out earlier.. but never got to the post office for stamps. My mom and I didn't get to make pumpkin rolls before Thanksgiving. So I hope one day this week we'll be able to make these. I really missed having them for Thanksgiving dinner. hehe We moved our living room around this week. And bought a new stand for our TV. The one we wanted wasn't in stock (well the one dh wanted, I didn't care so much as it had glass shelves. But it had an arm that you mount the tv on). We could hang the tv on the wall.. but that worries me a little. LOL But anyways, the room kind of looks larger. We do have a bit more room as we took out one computer desk. I bought a new laptop (its PINK!!) and gave Amanda my old one. So Jake has Amanda's desk, and his pc is there. She roams about the house with her laptop. So I have a To-Do list for today. I'm going to post a quick Homeschool update, then I am off to get some work done. :) Page 3 of 5 • Prev 1 2 3 4 5 Next |
