Our first week "back to school" didn't go too bad. We *should* have gotten a little more math finished, but all in it went well.
Monday, 15th, Amanda had her follow up appt. with the dentist that removed her wisdom teeth. All looked good. The kids had completed a few pages of Word Roots, a few pages of math (Key To), and we read one of our library books, Life on Earth: The Story of Evolution.
Tuesday, 16th, they completed 2 lessons from MUS, 4 pgs Word Roots. Then we went outside for awhile. It was too nice to stay indoors.
Wednesday, 17th, they did some more Word Roots, then we headed off to the park for an hour. We thought maybe some other local HSers would come, but none did so we didn't stay too long. The kids get bored of no one else is there. We came home and began reading another library book, This is My Planet: The Kids' Guide to Global Warming.
Thursday, 18th, they did a few more Word Roots pages and another MUS lesson. Then one of their friends was coming over for a bit for some Xbox gaming (Rock Band and Call of Duty 4).
Friday, 19th, was co-op day. Jake has 2 classes: Wizardology and Kitchen Chemistry. Amanda hangs with the teens and Kitchen Chemistry. I teach both classes. So in Wizardology I have 4 boys. Yesterday we painted the wands we made last session, and did some reading the Wizardology book. This class goes SOO quickly with the boys, I hardly felt like we did anything at all. LOL Then in chemistry we did a really fun color experiment with food dye and M&M's. I'll post the link so you can check it out too. All the kids had fun, of course they were hoping for more Bubble Bombs from last session. ;)
So all in all a fun productive week. :) I'll post what our schedule for this week coming looks like in a minute.
