This is the name of the site that I use and my daughter loves it. She thinks it is fun. She does not get on the computer much but she enjoys this.

I loved Southern Germany. My mother was from Switzerland and I had the chance to go see my grandfather when he was alive and I also got to see where I went to Kindergarten.

I am struggling with reading for my daughter. She was left behind in public school with her reading and we have been using Hooked on Phonics to get her caught up because she was not taught how to pronounce words correctly. I was stationed in Germany back in the 70's. I was in north Germany.

Oh. (heehee) I like your suggestion about the "No, I decided not to home teach them anymore and I just let them sit in front of the TV all day".

Can I borrow that line?? heehee

No, I've not seen these books, but I'll be sure to look them up!

I've never made an altered book, but I've seen the results. I'm a librarian at heart and it took me awhile to come to terms with this art!

Thanks for the card suggestion! Hadn't heard of that one! We bought one called Great States card game, and also have the boardgame by the same name. www.growingtreetoys.com/p...

Thank you. I have been thinking about starting nature journals. My kids love their sketch books (they each use about 5 per year of the big thick artpaper style) and I think this would go over well. I'm still noodling the idea.

Are you continuing to use the nature journals through the years, or was this a one year objective?

Hi Samantha! I look forward to getting to know you as well! It must be neat to homeschool your child in another country - what a field trip! I spent the early two years of my life in Japan. It's influence has lasted a lifetime. I'd love to give my daughter that experience.

And I have been wanting to go kayaking for years- my hubby is a little reluctant, but I figure when Grace is old enough she'll go with me!!

I do love SoCal for homeschooling- there is ALWAYS something to do!
