About Me: I am an Australian living in Germany and my husband is from the U.S. I have two daughters ages 11 and 13 and we have been homeschooling since 2000. During that time we have lived in San Diego, Southern Alabama, and now Southern Germany. Prior to homeschooling we also lived in Italy and I spent a couple of years in the UK before I met my husband.

I am a Girl Scout leader, last year with Juniors and this year Cadettes. I also enjoy traveling and scrapbooking and I am a Creative Memories consultant.

I've been involved with a number of volunteer groups over the years, I enjoy helping others. I consider myself a greenie and a tree-hugger.

No, I am not 8ft 11 , I just can't get the height info off my profile, so why not be really, really tall.

    Websites On Homeschooling:

Home Ed Magazine News and Commentary Page

TV: No TV. Well we have one, it's just not hooked up so it's just DVD's and Video's. My favourite movies are Under The Tuscan Sun and A Walk In The Clouds.
Books: So many books, so little time. I tend to read biographies more than anything.

    What I'm Reading Now:
God Is Not Great by I don't remember who.
    Likes: Gelato, Chocolate and Lasagne.
    Dislikes: Proselytizing
Hobbies: Hiking, camping, reading, scrapbooking, travel, photography.
    Vices: Sleeping in.
Virtues: Patience. Most people would say I am stubborn, but I am just really, really, REALLY, patient. And as my mother always says "Patience is a virtue". Who am I to disappoint my mother!
Heroes: I wouldn't say I have heroes, however I admire people who are willing to help others and who DO things to make their community better instead of sitting around complaining about them.

    Jason Project - Monster Storms

Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 10:52 AM EST [Website Recommendations]

Have you discovered the Jason Project?  I have been keeping an eye on this site for some years, and I am happy to find a new project called Monster Storms that is free.  Yes, FREE!  How cool is that!

We watched our first video today, and both of my daughters are excited about the challenge.  I still haven't explored the site fully and I am off to do that as soon as I finish this blog entry.  Notifying everyone at myhomeschoolplace was what I wanted to do before I got too involved with the Jason Project site.

    Have a happy halloween everyone!

This is the name of the site that I use and my daughter loves it. She thinks it is fun. She does not get on the computer much but she enjoys this.

I loved Southern Germany. My mother was from Switzerland and I had the chance to go see my grandfather when he was alive and I also got to see where I went to Kindergarten.

I am struggling with reading for my daughter. She was left behind in public school with her reading and we have been using Hooked on Phonics to get her caught up because she was not taught how to pronounce words correctly. I was stationed in Germany back in the 70's. I was in north Germany.

Oh. (heehee) I like your suggestion about the "No, I decided not to home teach them anymore and I just let them sit in front of the TV all day".

Can I borrow that line?? heehee

No, I've not seen these books, but I'll be sure to look them up!

I've never made an altered book, but I've seen the results. I'm a librarian at heart and it took me awhile to come to terms with this art!
