    "Thought"ful Thursday

Thursday, October 23, 2008, 05:31 PM CST [General]

So what are you thinking about most today? For me I am sitting here with my wrist wrapped in an Ace wrap realizing that I seem to usually have a ding, bruise, or minor injury most days. I do not consider myself a klutz but with the kids' around I get banged up more so than I ever did before I had children. Right now I have no less than three bruises that I have no idea how I got....seems I just woke up with them today. It really puzzles me some times. This morning I also awoke with a sore wrist hence the ace wrap. I went to press down on my wrist to get out of bed and winced in pain. I wonder what I did, I truly cannot remember hitting it or anything yesterday. I also wonder if this is a sign I am getting old LOL.

This morning after wrapping my wrist I made my bed, vacuumed my room, had a muffin and my coffee with pumpkin spice creamer. Then I threw open my doors to this simply marvelous weather we are having today in the Texas Hill Country. Wow O Wow but this is surely the fall I LOVE!!!! To bad by the weekend it will go back to being in the 80's.

We got the living room picked up, I vacuumed my MIL's blinds and window sills.....I sure do not for the hair reason alone miss having our own dog, made her bed, laundry is done and hanging out, got my October menu tracking calendar updated, Katie got her school work done, MIL bought us the new Dominoes toasted sandwiches for lunch YUMMO, and got a few more things to add to our OCC boxes.

Katie just went to get Dani and Hellie from their after school program then we are trying a new mock fried chicken recipe tonight but it is really baked. Then we have a few things that we watch on t.v. and of course the normal nightly routine, some reading, and heading off to bed.

Whew I have been busy for over a week till today.....

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 05:28 PM CST [General]

Whew I have been SO busy!!!!  Mike and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend (11 years) and I actually surprised him for once.  We have a friend "L" with a guest house on their small family farm which she gave us to use Saturday night and most of the day Sunday.  I cooked a huge meal, took some movies to watch, and a card game to play.  She had candles lit, had music playing ( a sweet gift from her sewing machine), and it smelled wonderful!  It was the first time we had done anything big alone since before Ela was born, it was absolutely wonderful.  We were chauffeured over by another friend "S" who detailed her van, had music playing, and her dvd player was playing our favorite movie the Princess Bride (also there was much more to this ride that will go down in memory, least of which was some awesome chocolate covered strawberries).  We had the best time, we even got to take a walk and admire some nearby horse ranches (got us talking about what we would do when we retired).  We had an awesome time and the R&R was so appreciated!!! Today is our actual anniversary but we aren't gonna do anything cause he has to work late tonight.  Last week I had MOPS, several meetings, a Mom's night out (filled with a broken water pipe at the church, it was interesting to say the least), starting our new chore/reward system which as teens would say "is the bomb", getting our OCC boxes together, getting errands ran, bills paid, big time clean down of the bathroom, Katie getting all her school work done, and organizing the Christmas presents in my closet by person so I know what I still need to get for whom.  I am done with Ela (except for p.j.'s) and Hellie too.  The two people I have to shop for the most are Mike and his mother.....so I feel more on track than I have ever been at this time of year.  Yesterday was Mother/Daughter day out for Katie and I....we did our normal day at the library and picnic thing.  Today we just cleaned, did laundry, changed the sheets, got school done and now I get to sit and surf the net.   Grabbed the girls' from the Center and now the evening on slot is upon us.  Gonna start book 4 in the Mitford series tonight but that is about it.

    Phone Conference Today.....

Wednesday, October 8, 2008, 06:13 PM CST [General]

First off this teacher is SUPER sweet and really great with the kids'. Secondly, she was so kind to do the conference over the phone since the car is down. She called and said Hellie is doing great! She is a joy to have in class, is learning and behaving well, always is one of the first to raise her hand to share out of her daily journal, and is such the little reader. They are supposed to have a reading fluency of 60 wpm by the end of the year and she is already at 30 wpm WOO HOO! I told her we read her books brought home from school with her doing the reading. We are frequent visitors to the public library and that her older sister, herself, and I are currently reading the Little House books which she was so excited to hear. She said now she understands why she is such a great reader and has such a wonderful vocabulary. I am so proud of her and how well she is doing!!!! So that is my brag for today. We got the house squared away, the laundry folded and put away, and Katie left to go meet the girls' and ride with our friends for youth group. We are going to watch one of our cop dramas and have adult dinner night. Hoping to get in another one or two of my book on c.d. but not much else planned for this evening.

    Fall Fall Fall....

Thursday, October 2, 2008, 02:31 PM CST [General]

I love this time of year.....it leads into so many awesome things to do and experience.  The colors are so beautiful and I love the way the leaves crunch under my feet.  This weekend we are gonna decorate, pull out our fire pit and play in the leaves.  Plus my baking urge kicks in and the house always smells so great when that is going on.  My toddler is having one of those days when she has just decided to work my last half a nerve but we got the house cleaned, the laundry done, school work finished, and she is finally down for a nap :crossingfingers:  Gonna watch some t.v. this evening, get the kids' bathed, read before bed, and hopefully sleep better than I did last night.

Thrilling Thursday.....well o.k. maybe not but the weekend is almost here YAY

Thursday, September 25, 2008, 10:16 AM CST [General]

Up early to finally get Hellie back to school after three days of feeling bad to keep Dani at home cause she isn't feeling great...different bad feeling though. Katie went to Sea World and probably won't be back till 5pm. I have a pot of beans on for bean soup I am making tonight. Had my coffee and cinnamon toast this morning which always seems so fall to me. I can smell the pot of beans and the garlic cooking YUMMO. Gotta go run a few errands later but other than that just cleaning for me today.
