    Water

    Friday, February 8, 2008, 05:51 PM [General]

You don't realize just how important water is until you don't have any. On Tuesday we had a water pipe break. Well actually the elbow joint rusted through. Luckily Tanek saw the backyard flooding and we were able to shut off the water. Vins called the plumber but we didn't hear back from him until that night. He said he would try to make it out the next afternoon. He didn't make it. Finally at noon on Thursday we were able to get another plumber. It took him about 30 min. to fix the problem. Lucky for us the rest of the pipe (so far) was fine.

Unfortunatly the pipes run under our sidewalk and then under the asphalt driveway. We will cross our fingers. If the pipe breaks in any of those areas we will be looking at major problems.

So, two days without water doesn't sound bad except you need water for EVERYTHING. Washing clothes, washing dishes, cooking, bathing, brushing teeth, etc. We made do with a couple gallons of water and thankfully Vinson's cousin let us borrow her shower while they were out of town.

You can not imagine how happy we were when the water was turned back on.

Thanks so much for the comment and name pronounciation. That is an old world, beautiful name I must say! Hopefully you can pass it on somewhere down the line so it doesn't get lost.

Speaking of Lost...one can only remain hopeful. Have a good day!

Welcome! Thanks for the sign-up, I look forward to hearing more about your journey! I have to ask how to pronounce your name?

Ahhh....what to say about "Lost". I was and still am pretty upset that Charlie died. Completely crazy. I'll have to see what happens next though as it's getting stranger and stranger.
