Getting rid of the junk mail

I've absolutely had it with all the paper piling up in my life... now I'm on a rampage to stop it.  I've cancelled the newspaper subscriptions (though I'm keeping my Sunday Washington Post - I can't bring myself to let that one go).  My next project is banishing the junk mail.  As homeschoolers, don't we all already have enough papers in our lives?!

I heard about this organization on Oprah.  They remove you from the junk mail lists and plant a bunch of trees for signing up.  Sounds good.  We'll see how long it takes to acheive paper freedom!

What better way to learn about democracy and the voting process than to work at a campaign headquarters?  On Potomac Primary day, J. and I volunteered at the Obama county headquarters.  She joined a friend at the volunteer table, signing everyone in and handing out “flare”.  Mom worked the phones to get out the vote.

Cool Susan, Annapolis is such a pretty place. I am *hoping* to take a field trip there this spring/summer. Sadly, we've never had the kids to the capital area yet. :( So many things/places to see.. so little time (& money LOL). :D
