Mom's Manual - Clock Out Routine

    Sunday, October 5, 2008, 07:20 AM EST [Mom's Manual]

Today I plan the "Clock Out" routine. This is what must be done before you "punch out" for the day so to speak. Here's mine:

    1. Dinner/Clean up - 6:30, Set coffee pot, and make sure lunch box items are ready to pack for tomorrow. Plan quick breakfast so I don't have to think (my brain takes a while to wake up, lol)

    2. 8:00 - Butterfly puts her toys away & takes her shower, Firefly practices spelling words (M - Th)

    3. Butterfly - hair and teeth, Bedtime story, practice spelling words (M - Th)

    4. Butterfly in bed at 9:00, Firefly takes care of her own bedtime routine.

    5. Shower, brush hair and teeth

    6. Quick clean bathroom

    7. Daily Devotion

    1. Put away school materials

    2. Enter attendance for the day.

    3. Put away all the laundry

    4. Make dinner.

Mom's Manual - 7 UP and Daily Chores

    Friday, October 3, 2008, 03:42 PM EST [Mom's Manual]

Today I joined a yahoo group to build a "Mom's Manual." Other sites call it a control journal or a Home Management Binder. I like to redo mine every few months, as life changes and I try to keep up, lol. So, I thought I'd post my assignments to keep track.

The Morning starts with 7 Up. No, not the soft drink. (Cuz everyone knows if you drink pop in the morning, you have to pick one with caffeine!)  It's a little play on words to get your day jump started with the following 7 things:

Wake UP - Set your alarm and get up at the same time for the next 21 days. That will be early for me - 4:45. I mostly have been getting up and staying up then, but not on the weekends.

Brush UP - Brush your teeth. Brush and fix your hair for the day.

Make UP - Wash your face and fix your makeup.

Dress UP - Get dressed for the day.

Pick UP - Make your bed. Do a general straightening of the main rooms.

Eat UP - Eat breakfast, obviously.

Clean UP - Wash dishes, empty trash.

Pretty simple. The key is to do these things consistantly before you do anything else. The 2nd part of today's assignment is to make a list of daily tasks. Here is the suggested list:

    Have 7-UP
Check email (hey we enjoy it!)
Spend 15 minutes in your zone (we will get to it, so for now this is
a step you don't have to do)
Spend 15 minutes on your project (we will get to it, so for now this
is a step you don't have to do)
    Feed the animals
    Wash the Dishes
    Do Laundry
    Cook Supper
Do your "Ahhhh it's Afternoon" (we will get to it, so for now this is
a step you don't have to do)
Clock Out (we will get to it, so for now this is a step you don't
    have to do)

Let's see, is there anything I need to add to this list? Well, school, obviously. And a daily devotion. Feeding the dog is the kid's job so I don't need to do that. Everything else looks pretty good.

    Here is my list:

    Devotion

    7 Up

    All Laundry

    15 minutes in the zone

    15 minutes on a project

    Make Dinner

    Do dishes

    Afternoon

    Clock Out
