My 3rd grader is making a math dictionary this year. Each time she learns a new concept (or reviews an old one), she makes a page describing how to do a particular kind of problem. She loves to draw and color, so decorating the pages makes it fun. We also added a dopey looking guy asking for directions on how to solve the problem. We will keep all the pages together and eventually they will be a book that she can look back through, if she forgets how to do a math problem.
Place Value Math Links
We are still (not so patiently) waiting for our materials to arrive. So in the meantime, I am looking for fun games and extra worksheets to supplement math lessons if we need them. Our first unit is on place value.
