Just
a quick heads-up before a take the weekend off for a head-cold....Chuck E. Cheese has their new Reward Calendars up! You and your kid(s) mark the days of completing some activity and they ear free tokens for the action. We actually use Chuck E. Cheese for our little ones to complete simple book reports. After 20 completed, we go for a short trip. This helps, because as second graders, my boys are having to learn that there is more to books than just reference. It has been a struggle, but this is working for us. More on that later. I am going to sip on some hot tea and read
something.... |

Dinosaur FREEBIES !!!! TONS!
| Dinosaur Days! We were supposed to start our Human Body Lap Book / Unit Study, this week. And we were suposed to start our American Independance LapBook / Unit Study, as well... Well, then I found this great FREE site and made the mistake of showing it to my kids who began to lobby me to change the schedule to, "Do DINOSAURS first"! Sigh . . . So, we will be doing Dinosaurs, first! Let me tell you about this free site... They require you to be a "Member" but it is free and I simply give my trash yahoo address, used only for signing up for things like this. (Good hint, by the way. Make a new yahoo address simply for the things you sign up for, and all that garbage does not fill up your personal email account) Now the science section has Cross Curriculum Sheets for EACH subject! Did I mention it was FREE???? As we discovered the Dinosaur section, itself divided up into sections. (Each of the science sections have the same "Sections". They have Teacher Note, they have Lesson Plans, they have MURALS! (You print each sheet then hang on wall), they have Fact File Sheets for studying, and they have much more... So, here are a few photos of us beginning our Dinosaur days... Here is a DIRECT Link tot he Dinosaur Information. (You have to be a member to get it, but it is free...) Click HERE Here are more links to more FREE Dinosaur Stuff that we plan to use.... (Most is in PDF Form!!) Dinosaur Memory Game Cards This Dinosaur...Early Reader Book Dinosaur World Map Three Matchbooks... Where were the Dinosaurs on the Ark?

The first Monday in September usually symbolizes the end of summer to many people. “Don’t wear white after Labor Day,” used to be a common fashion phrase. The first Monday in September is also Labor Day, a day to say, “Thank you” to those who work in the labor force. In the Hands of a Child’s Labor Day Project Pack is just the unit to teach your students about this annual holiday. This 76-page project pack includes a 10-page research guide and 20 hands-on activities to help your students learn about the holiday, the work force, and important people in the history of the holiday.
Bible Color Pages for Older Kids
While looking for a cover Page for our Creation Lapbooks, I came across this site that offers free GORGEOUS pictures. They are all printable and if you use a marker or better yet, a MAP PENCIL set to color it, it could turn out quite beautiful! I thought they would be good for the older children to work on, to give their pages a more sophisticated look, perhaps?
