Santa
Yesterday was the Lake City/Girard Santa Clause parade. The firefighters escorted Santas sleigh around town and ended up at the Lake City Fire Dept.
We waited at the fire dept. where the Girl Scouts Sang Carols and there were crafts for the kids to do. There was cookies and hot chocolate and, of course, Santa.
My kids decided they were to old to sit on Santas lap this year. Oh well, they still had fun.
They still like watching the movies and cartoons. My son and I giggled through the scene with the carabou in The Polar Express.
My Daughter is Lucky
Everyone was gone this evening except my youngest son and me. I made him some popcorn on the stove top. I had just put salt on it and was washing the pan when my husband, oldest son and daughter came home. She wanted to fix supper, I said,"ok."
The next thing is so strange, she put her hand on the burner and said, "Strange, this is warm."
I looked at her and said, "You're lucky you didn't burn yourself, because I just finished making popcorn on the stove! You know better than to touch stove burners when somebody's been cooking."
She's also lucky we have a gas stove. I think gas burners cool faster than electric ones.
Cookies
My 15 yo ds and his friend are baking cookies. I think the last time he did that the kids put to much salt in. The cookies looked pretty, but. 10 yo ds is bouncing around the kitchen trying to help. The boys added food coloring to chocolate chip cookies. Because the recipe calls for brown sugar, they are dark anyway.
Yum, strange color, but good,
