About Me: Me - hmmmmm. Well, there's so much to share I'm not sure I could suffice to compile it in words. I'm never good at these things.
My husband and I have four kids - ages 6 - 12 and have recently happened upon the conclusion that we wish we could push "pause" on birthday number 12 and "resume" somewhere around 22. LoL
I love to watch my kids - they are creative, loyal, full of life and loads of fun. It's nice to remember the days I felt that about myself. I'm endeavoring to make sure they know how much they are worth and exactly how much potential they each have.... I feel that was lacking in my own youth.
My husband is an amazing man. He's my best friend, a great father, and an absolute genius on the computer. We've been dating since high school -- we met in the youth group of my father's church.
So, yes, I'm also a "PK" (Preacher's Kid) and I've a very strong bond with each of my parents -- even though I grew detached from their Faith and have been growing on my own path for a while now.
Contrary to popular opinion, I'm a very spiritual person. Our family prays and worships together on a regular basis.
As far as homeschool goes -- we are very eclectic unschoolers for the most part.
I'm so happy to have found this website! I hope to meet many others who share this homeschool journey.
Music: If I could describe myself in one word: Eclectic -- that extends to my musical tastes as well. As a semi-professional singer/musician my life revolves around a succession of melodies.
My iPod has everything from Beethoven to Beyonce. John & June Cash, Buckcherry, Lauryn Hill, Green Day, Celestine Monks, Korn, Fall Out Boy, Amy Grant, etc. etc. etc. and on and on. I'm also a "Broadway Baby" so I've got soundtracks including The Producers, Hairspray, Spring Awakening, Grease, Wicked, etc. etc. :D I've even got some High School Musical and Classic Disney up on there.
That's just a tiny glimpse of what I like -- if it has a melody, I'm probably gonna love it.
I'm also a Drummer -- Djembe currently.
Movies: I love movies! Any genre -- any cast. A-list, b-list any and all. :D
TV: TiVo is my best friend and I tend to gravitate towards crime dramas and mysteries. I like Lost, Jericho, and my new *love* is
Ugly Betty!!!
I also like reality shows... even though I use the word *reality* very loosely. (Hint: If it lists writers and directors then you have to realize it's been tweaked. Usually more than a little bit.
Books: My whole family reads voraciously --- I like mysteries and historical biographies, etc. Getting prepped to read the seventh Potter book at present. I was a nice mommy and let my hubby and oldest son read it first.... they're being nice to me by not spilling the beans (Bertie Botts of course) :D.

Our friend is a manager at the local Border's store and he invited us to dress up and participate in the launch party they'd organized for the latest in the Potter franchise. His girlfriend is one of our best friends and my kids dressed her up as a character that's introduced in the latest movie. The funny thing was, she's not seen the movies or read the books and had no clue who she was portraying... even when she made it to the *last round* of the evenings costume contest.

Farewell to my BIL -- a soldier being deployed

My brother-in-law was recently sent to train in preparation for an overseas deployment. As a single 30 something who is among the best in his group, he'll be in the middle of the "action". Though there is extreme pride, we also feel worry and miss him dearly.
I put together a photo montage of the last weekend our family was able to spend time with him before he left for camp.
