Okay, so I posted before how I took patterns off the Internet, from my favorite free pattern website. I finished the project for my sister's wedding in July! The shower is in April, and I hope to "wow" her at the shower with this:
The whole thing looks a little lopsided because I don't have plate sets that match in size, but I hope you can get the idea.

I especially like the design details at the bottom of the bottom layer. I changed the pattern into an amigurumi style after the increases for the largest plate were finished, and the 2 middle layers were strictly done without joining rounds.

The freeform crochet vines were fun to make, and I would do that all over again. It was fun and full of whimsy with leaves both designed by myself and other free patterns for leaves. I did the flowers after the vines, again with a free daisy crochet pattern, and tweaked it a little to get them to look like I wanted them to.

I pinned the vines down by tying the yellow daisy flower ends through the 'cake' and tying off. Some of the vines were 'convinced' to stay where they are by a tie in of the same color.

Here's a peek at the mismatched plates underneath, which also showcases some nice detail work where my closeups failed, LOL.

The bunny cake topper pattern was changed in color, and that I added a tail, and stuck a boquet in her hand that matched the freeform vines I was producing, and there are pipe cleaners in the bent ears to get them to stay bent.

I was going for the detail pictures to show the delicacy of her veil flowers...

Again, going for detail of the groom's little tuxedo and flower, but it's blurry :(

The MAIN thing I changed was the wedding cake topper stand. For that I totally winged it using the loop stitch (LOOKS fancy, truly easy if you get the hang of it - just stick your finger in the way of a sc's yo, and leave it in while you complete the st, remove finger before starting next stitch. I started with 6 loop sc in a 3ch loop and increased like I would have normally for a circle. It didn't turn out too bad. I may make another thing like that for the Easter Bunny to use in the bottom of the Easter baskets this (okay, let's be honest -) NEXT year.
I hoped you enjoyed viewing as much as I enjoyed making it!
