Hey,
We have made it through our first year at GVA. It is almost the end of summer and we are gearing up for another school year. Sadly to say there are some changes to be made. My oldest will be going back to his public school. Not my favorite choice but a choice that had to be made. He was not willing to do his work at home and barlly graduated. Ug... so frustarting. But hes happy with the decision and his happiness comes first. My daughter will be stay at GVA and my youngest will join us at GVA in three years (fingers crossed). So we will walk this path this year see how it goes and reevalute the situation at the end of the year (or maybe sooner). I hate being in limbo! Noah will most likley stay in public school for a year or two and then we will see about putting back into GVA. When he learns to behave! I hate saying that it sounds like I have given up on him but really it anything but. I tried bribbing, we had meettings with the teacher, I tried each and every different kind of reward system out there, I tried schedules, no schedules, letting him do things on his own term and still nothing worked. I dont know maybe ive just lost my patience with him but my hopes are that by removing him from the situation I will have the peace to reevaluate! Please God.........
Anyway thats our story so far!
God bless,
Stormy

Hi Stormy,
OregonRainhlmI will be new to schooling from home with Oregon Virtual Academy (ORVA) (new this fall). I have 3 boys, 2 in HS, and the other is a 4th grader. The 4th grader will be in ORVA, the other two are in traditional public school. I volunteer a lot in the HS so it will be interesting to see how I can juggle this. Also, I am used to freedom...that will change dramatically! Last year my kids were in 3 different b&m public schools (elem, middle, hs)...so I was spread thin volunteering in all of them anyway. Not to mention HW time! It sounds like you have had some challenges this past year. I hope it all works out for the best. -Holly
