A visit to my sister's house and to Chuck E. Cheese's

Friday, July 25, 2008, 09:01 AM EST [General]

My dad, kids, and I went to visit my sister in Marietta ( just 3 1/2 hours from here).  She has just moved to the east side and is trying to get her house in order while being a mom to a 18 month old and a 3 month old.  I had forgotten what those days were like but it didn't take long to remember.  (I had two under one for 10 days.)  I don't think I could have packed up and moved my family when mine were the age of hers.

The visit was good until my kids got bored (as always).  Our kids age difference is too far apart.  Mine are 7 1/2 and 8 1/2  years old.  They don't know how to entertain an 18 month old.  I was glad to get to see my niece and nephew.  They are growing so fast (just like my kids are...too fast).   I can't believe my nephew is already 3 months. (Actually, he's 3 1/2 months.)

I guess my trip was two fold...a reward and a visit. My kids enjoyed going to Chuck E. Cheese's.  I was disappointed that the sketcher was don't working since I forgot to take my camera.  My kids surprised me the time before when we went and the sketcher  took a good picure of them together (if I have it saved on my pc I'll post it...can't it's a .tif file).

We went to Chuck E. Cheese as a reward for all the work we did around the house.  They had worked hard last week helping clean the house (since dh takes no interest...see other blog).  I had some coupons that I needed to use so they got to go as a reward for all the hard work they did!  Don't get me wrong, my house is not filthy or anything.  It just gets cluttered from time to time and we have to tackle it when it's too cluttered for me to live in it sanely.

Ok I'm rambling on her and I need to be getting ready to take a computer for dh :) to a customer.

I'm still trying to learn how to get around on this site

Monday, July 21, 2008, 03:07 PM EST [General]

I'm new at blogs and this kind of stuff but I'm wanting to learn and I've found that when someone really wants to do something bad enough, they will.  For example, my dh has taught himself to play the harmonia.  He has only been playing for about 6 months but he sounds pretty good.  (Too bad he doesn't want to help with keeping the house clean.)

Well, I have found where I go to see new comments and I thought had selected all and approved all but some didn't show up on my site page so they must not have been selected.  I don't remember who sent the messages but I appreciate what was said.  I'm sorry I didn't get to reply and tell you personally and maybe next time I will pay more attention and be sure the message is checked to be approved.

Please bare with me as I learn the ins and outs here.

    Thanks,

    Sue

    Hi Sue..

Yes, Nicole is hoping for the Big Brown Truck. She will be going into 3rd grade and she is really excited about being home schooled. The truck drove on by today. She didn't see him go by which was a good thing. Our school here in ID does not start until the 20th. The classes are all on line and the material's list. But we are waiting on the books. Hope you have a great year also.
