We have a new addition to the family. Blizzard the ferret.
I have wanted a ferret for years. I checked our local for sale paper last week and found one, with a cage, for a very cheap price. I talked to my DH and he agreed I could get it. My DS was extremely excited when I told him, he's wanted a ferret for about 2 years. We arranged to meat the person with the ferret on Thursday. On the way I called to ask her a question, she said she couldn't meet us at the arranged time, she had to meet us 2 hours later. I called before we headed over for the second meeting time to make sure she could still meet us. She told me her husband had called her and told her he had changed his mind and didn't want to sell the ferret anymore. DS was devastated and I was mad. I couldn't believe they would change their mind like that at the last minute. She said she would talk to her husband.
DS was hang-dog (he's usually bouncing off the walls) the all afternoon and evening. I finally started making calls to other listings about 6 or 7 pm, since the first lady had't called back and I couldn't reach her when I callled her. I found another ferret with a cage for slightly more and we went and picked him up on Friday.
Given a choice, I wouldn't have chosen an albino, but Blizzard seems to be a sweet guy. I have discovered that it is *very* difficult to take a clear picture of a ferret. He is either asleep and hiding or moving. Everytime I tried to take his picture he'd move before the shutter clicked. :) The biggest problem right now is that everytime my DS says the ferret's name it sounds like he's saying lizard instead of Blilzzard. I keep thinking we should change him name to snowy but DS like the name Blizzard.

That's cool about having family in GA... Although GA has changed so much and gotten so crowded that I am actually ok with moving. I miss the slower pace and not having traffice EVERYWHERE. heehee
