About Me: I am a stay at home homeschooling mom of one son (10 y/o). He is strong willed, gifted, and diagnosed ADHD. He loves soccer, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Transformers, and (most recently) Naruto. He doesn't like school.
Music: Soft rock and (more and more) classical.
Movies: I'm a sucker for the tear jerkers. I don't like horror anymore (I did until I saw Cujo). I like action, sci-fi, and family films.
TV: All the CSI shows, both Stargate shows, 4400, Dead Zone, Medium, Bones, Heroes, Eureka, Psych, Cold Case, Without A Trace, ER, Lost. I watch way too much TV. Fortunately we have Tivo so I can manage it, eventually. I also record a lot of these shows for my neighbor who can't receive the station but likes the shows. We also watch Nascar.
Books: Harry Potter, child rearing books, education books, mystery books, science fiction books. All kinds of books.
Hobbies: Reading, studying different languages (although I never manage to actually learn any of them), suduko, and watching TV.

    Blizzard

We have a new addition to the family.  Blizzard the ferret.

I have wanted a ferret for years.  I checked our local for sale paper last week and found one, with a cage, for a very cheap price.  I talked to my DH and he agreed I could get it.  My  DS was extremely excited when I told him, he's wanted a ferret for about 2 years.  We arranged to meat the person with the ferret on Thursday.  On the way I called to ask her a question, she said she couldn't meet us at the arranged time, she had to meet us 2 hours later.  I called before we headed over for the second meeting time to make sure she could still meet us.  She told me her husband had called her and told her he had changed his mind and didn't want to sell the ferret anymore.  DS was devastated and I was mad.  I couldn't believe they would change their mind like that at the last minute.  She said she would talk to her husband.

DS was hang-dog (he's usually bouncing off the walls) the all afternoon and evening.  I finally started making calls to other listings about 6 or 7 pm, since the first lady had't called back and I couldn't reach her when I callled her.  I found another ferret with a cage for slightly more and we went and picked him up on Friday.

Given a choice, I wouldn't have chosen an albino, but Blizzard seems to be a sweet guy.  I have discovered that it is *very* difficult to take a clear picture of a ferret.  He is either asleep and hiding or moving.  Everytime I tried to take his picture he'd move before the shutter clicked. :)  The biggest problem right now is that everytime my DS says the ferret's name it sounds like he's saying lizard instead of Blilzzard.  I keep thinking we should change him name to snowy but DS like the name Blizzard.

I just found out abou this and thought it would be a good way for us to keep in touch with our homeschooling friends.

I have been married for 24 years and have 1 son (10 y/o).  We have homeschooled from the beginning using an eclectic approach.  We homeschool for academic reasons not religious.

That's cool about having family in GA... Although GA has changed so much and gotten so crowded that I am actually ok with moving. I miss the slower pace and not having traffice EVERYWHERE. heehee
